Twelve Nights (Rauhnächte)December 20th 2023 - January 6th, 2024 It is that time again, to celebrate and honor the past year while intentionally welcoming the new year. The twelve nights, also known as “Rauhnächte” in German or the holy nights, are an old indigenous European pagan festival celebrated around the time of the winter solstice, typically spanning from December 25th to January 6th. Each region has their own unique customs, rituals, and ways to celebrate and give meaning to this space between, as well as use different names for them (e.g. Glöckelnächte, Innernächte or Unternächtes). All customs share a common purpose: it is a time of reflection, cleansing and preparing for the new year. Regional customs say that the veils are thinner to the spirit world during the twelve days between the old and new year, carrying a transient energy of what comes to a close and what is yet in the invisible. The days from the 21st till the 24th of December are dedicated to preparing ourselves for the transition. Stay connected offline in our dedicated group chat. After the 12 nights - throughout 2024: Optional monthly gatherings throughout the new year with a one-hour call at the beginning of each month. These calls are offered as a touchpoint to reflect on the past year and together lean forward into the month ahead. We observe individual & collective patterns and make sense of our experiences while being held in the group.
